Workshop - Developing Nationally Agreed Clinical Outcomes

Defining and reporting clinical outcomes is a fundamental function of clinical hyperbaric facilities and used extensively for research, benchmarking and quality activities. In DHM this has traditionally been a unit-specific activity, with each facility free to define each outcome as they determine most appropriate.
The aim of this Workshop is to begin the task of standardising clinical outcomes using agreed definitions and severity grading systems in order to allow direct comparisons between facilities and to produce coherent and rational national databases for audit, research and publication in the future. We propose a collaborative approach with the aim of producing a series of consensus statements and definitions.
This aim of this Workshop is to begin this process by producing standard definitions for outcomes from the treatment of Chronic Wounds and Soft Tissue Radiation Injury.
